Paper stump is made of materials like rice paper or newsprint that have been pressurized into paper rolls. It is a professional pen for processing tonal relationships on dealing with shadows and darkening in painting with pencil, charcoal, and oil pastel sticks. It works particularly well for blending big areas (when using the side) and even small areas (when using the tip), which call for detail and give you more control than your fingers or other instruments, like q-tips.
